Use 2021 ICD-10 Codes October 1

Effective October 1, 2020: 2021 ICD-10 Codes

To help you avoid rejections and denials, all NextGen Healthcare clients—including those managed by NextGen® Managed Cloud Services—must act now to update ICD-10 codes.

To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve created a Success Community article titled 2021 ICD-10 Update Process Overview that contains step-by-step instructions to update your ICD-10 codes.

The updated 2021 ICD-10-CM and 2021 ICD-10-PCS codes must be used for discharges and patient encounters effective October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021. The changes include:

  • 490 new codes
  • 47 code revisions
  • 58 deletions
