An extension has been approved for the Missouri Women’s Health Services Program, 1115 Family Planning Demonstration, by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS). The extension is effective from January 1, 2015 until December 31. 2017. MO HealthNet offers women’s health services to participants where Medicaid pregnancy coverage has been lost after 60 days postpartum. Women’s Health Services are also offered by MO HealthNet to participants who meet eligibility criteria:
- Be age 18 through 55
- Have family income at or below 201 percent of the Federal Poverty Level
- Not otherwise eligible for Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or health insurance coverage that provides family planning services.
Once the woman has been sterilized and post-operative care is complete eligibility ends.
The services that are covered under this program include:
- Family planning services.
- Family planning-related services and supplies, and
- Testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases that are diagnosed during a routine/periodic family planning visit.
Services and supplies are only covered for the primary purpose of family planning or when a family planning-related problem is identified or diagnosed during a routine or periodic family planning visit.
