Better Together: 5.9/8.4

5.9/8.4 – Better User Experience

The improvements we’ve made in person demographics alone – better views, the ability to collect the patient pharmacy during registration, a patient portal enrollment status icon, and more – can save your staff several clicks every day, from Day 1, using 5.9/8.4. The cumulative improvements in 5.9/8.4 can add up to a better work/life balance for your entire staff.

5.9/8.4 – Better Upgrade Experience

With more than 200 5.9/8.4 Beta and Fast Track upgrades already complete, our measurements show an average 44 % faster upgrade – because it’s a combined version – compared with earlier version upgrades that required two separate upgrade cycles. The 5.9/8.4 upgrade experience helps you minimize operational impact because you manage a single downtime. Workflow redesign is a one-time event. So is core EHR and KBM training.

5.9/8.4 – Better Regulatory Workflows

NextGen® Ambulatory EHR 5.9 is 2015 Edition certified electronic health record technology (CEHRT) compliant. But the regulatory functionality in 5.9/8.4 can help you run a better practice. A few examples:

  • In PM 5.9, easily reorder all diagnosis coming from EHR 5.9, per charge line; no more going back and forth between PM and EHR to see all the diagnosis codes.
  • Inside the EHR, pharmacies can suggest a change to received e-prescriptions; an accepted RxChange request will increment the denominator and numerator for the e-Rx measure.
  • Patients can access their health record data via a third-party App and/or program using the NextGen API; you’ll increment the numerator of the “View, Download, Transmit” objective – and provide a better patient experience.
  • The new “Medications Reconciled” check box syncs and displays the same information on the medication panel of Framework Templates and the Medication Module – less clicks/scrolls.
  • Common clinical data sets allow data validation and easier interoperability.
  • Initiate an electronic prior authorization for controlled substance prescriptions from inside the EHR; comply with DEA two-factor authentication identity proofing.
