New CPT code 76706 will replace HCPCS code G0389 for abdominal aorta ultrasound screening.
CMS allows for one ultrasound screening for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) for patients with a family history of AAA or for men age 65-75 who have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime.
The deductible and coinsurance is waived for this preventive service.
