New 2025 ICD-10 codes have been released by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The changes for both ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS include:
- 623 new codes
- 13 code revisions
- 97 deletions
The updated 2025 ICD-10-CM and 2025 ICD-10-PCS codes must be used for discharges and patient encounters effective October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025. Please take action now to be in regulatory compliance and to avoid claims processing interruption.
CMS Guidelines for ICD-10 Coding and Reporting FY 2025 are now available for review.

All clients, including those managed by NextGen® Managed Cloud Services, are required to take action to update ICD-10 codes. To avoid rejections and denials due to ICD-10 code changes, we urge you to take action now.
The hosting team will ensure ICD and CDL updates are completed before the due date. If any updates need to the prioritized or were missed, please submit a case through the Success Community.
You may also submit a case through the Success Community using the category Practice Management (Enterprise) and the topic File Maintenance – PM, or the category of EHR & Clinical Templates (ACE) and the topic of Ancillary Tools if it is Adaptive Content Engine-related.
