On July 7, CMS released the proposed rule for its annual update to the Physician Fee Schedule outlining policy changes for Medicare payments under the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS), effective on or after January 1, 2023. The proposed 2,066-page rule also included critically important proposed changes to:
- Quality Payment Program
- E&M coding
- Telehealth and Behavioral Health services
- Electronic Prescribing for Controlled Substances under Medicare Part D
- Policies impacting Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Rural Health Clinic (RHC) organizations
- Shared Savings Accountable Care Organization (ACO) program
