Information Blocking

As your trusted advisor, NextGen Healthcare strives to keep you informed about industry and regulatory changes impacting your practice. The 21st Century Cures Act (CURES) final rules published by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) earlier this year are among the most noteworthy regulations in recent years. It is essential that your practice understands its obligations and pertinent deadlines, particularly under the interoperability and information blocking rule.

As so often happens, the federal government recently announced a delay of the regulatory deadline for information blocking. The new information blocking deadline is April 5, 2021.

In light of the many questions NextGen Healthcare has received about the information blocking rule and how it specifically affects our clients, we have updated our 21st Century Cures FAQ and posted this document, along with a new NextGen Healthcare Information Blocking Statement to the 21st Century Cures page on the Success Community

We urge clients to visit this page to this and other information and learn how CURES impacts your organization and your providers, health IT developers like NextGen Healthcare, and other “actors” under the law.

We also recommend you attend our monthly Health Reform Simplified webinar to learn more about CURES and other important government and industry developments from our panel of trusted advisors and health reform experts.
