NextGen Patient Access API – Important Update Available November 8

New version of NextGen Patient Access API scheduled for release

As part of our ongoing effort to release quality software and make improvements to already released software, a new version of the NextGen® Patient Access API tool for patient access using third-party applications is scheduled to be released November 8, 2019.

This new version contains security enhancements allowing us to remove strong password requirements, thereby significantly reducing the time needed to install the tool. This will make it easier for practices to configure the NextGen Patient Access API tool and to get appropriate credit for the PI Patient Access measure.

Did you know you need the NextGen Patient Access API installed and configured to meet Promoting Interoperability (PI) requirements in 2019?

  • If you’ve already done this, you’re ready for patient requests to access their health records using a third-party application of their choosing – a key requirement for MIPS and Medicaid PI. No action is needed on your part, your NextGen Patient Access API will be updated automatically.
  • If you have not done so yet, please install and configure NextGen Patient Access API right away! Visit NextGen Patient Access API to learn more and open your case.
