As detailed in the Cures Act Final Rule, December 31, 2022 was the last day that the ONC 2015 Edition certification will be considered valid for participation in Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services quality programs. After this date, only technology certified to the ONC’s 2015 Edition Cures Update will be considered certified.
This means clients participating in MIPS Promoting Interoperability in 2023 will need to upgrade to Cures Update-certified software by the beginning of their 90-day performance period. Please note: the final 90-day performance period this year begins on October 2, 2023.
