Exciting news! NextGen® Enterprise 8 (NGE 8), is now in General Release. NGE 8 has been enhanced to provide a user experience that’s more intuitive, easier to use, and has fewer clicks. The refreshed framework features include:
- Patient Information Bar: All basic patient information is now at your fingertips. This tool can be configured so you can focus on the information you want displayed. Plus, it can be expanded or collapsed to provide more screen space in the EHR.
- Hover Icon Buttons: Get key information without all the clicks, including care guidelines, medications, problems, and appointments. These can be configured to what you want to see and arranged in the order of your preference. You can also use these hover buttons to navigate into the EHR to view labs, access the med module, and problems list. And the new Data Share Icon launches the interoperability module where you can review and retrieve CCDA, export data, and track referrals.
- Encounter History: Configure what data elements you want to see in past encounters and then easily navigate to them. And the new Encounter Summary View provides a cohesive overview of pertinent details of the patient visit.
- Category View: Find documents based on preferences using the Category View enables. Have a favorite? My Categories allows you to save categories to your favorite list.
The Choice is Yours: Stay or Upgrade
NextGen Enterprise 8 is ready for you. Whether you’re ready for NGE 8 is up to you. Review this chart to help guide you, but the choice is yours.
- Stay: Stick with your current software and any upgrade plan that you have in place.
- Upgrade to NGE 8: Start thinking about an upgrade. Talk to your account representative to make a plan.
Note: If you are a client who has upgraded within the last 6 months, it’s likely best to hold off on another upgrade for now.
