Final Promoting Interoperability Performance Period Starts 10/2

Reminder: October 2 marks the beginning of the final 2023 period for eligible clinicians participating in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Promoting Interoperability (PI) program.

If your organization hasn’t achieved 90 consecutive days with optimal scores in the PI performance category, NextGen Healthcare urges you to monitor your measure performance and implement improvements by October 2.

Here are a few related reminders:

  • Clients unsure of their eligibility under MIPS should check their status here: https://qpp.cms.gov/
  • NextGen® HQM is a CMS Qualified Registry and can be used to complete your 2023 MIPS Submissions.
  • Clients who have not already implemented the 2023 MIPS PI program in NextGen HQM should open a case for “HQM Implementation” soon as possible so that they can monitor measure performance for the duration of the final 90-day performance period.
  • The NextGen HQM measure papers covering required workflows can be found on the Success Community here.
  • Clients reporting MIPS PI in 2023 need to be on the Cures-certified version (6.2021.1 with Patch 79 or higher) by the start of the selected 90-day performance period.
