Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) Update for NextGen Enterprise

NextGen Healthcare continues to work with the national eCR Support Team to complete testing and onboarding with the Association of Public Health Libraries (APHL) Informatics Messaging Services (i.e., the AIMS platform). This platform for electronic case reporting (eCR) is being adopted by public health agencies (PHAs) in all 50 states as the preferred method to receive data on reportable conditions directly from certified electronic health records (EHR) systems. 

NextGen Enterprise EHR is currently at stage 4 of a 5-stage onboarding process for connecting NextGen® Enterprise EHR clients to AIMS.

Please review our NextGen® Enterprise eCR FAQ, which also outlines the steps NextGen Healthcare clients must take to meet the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Promoting Interoperability active engagement requirement for eCR. 

To achieve active engagement to in 2023, it is only necessary to register your intent to submit eCR data with your PHA. Upon completing our testing with AIMS, the eCR Support Team will notify PHAs that they can begin onboarding NextGen Healthcare clients.
