New vaccine specific CPT® codes have been published by the American Medical Association (AMA) to streamline the reporting of immunizations for COVID-19, including those to support the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine that received Emergency Use Authorization from the Food and Drug Administration on February 27, 2021.
Visit the COVID-19 Vaccine Resources page on the Success Community to access the link to download the codes for free from the AMA website. As new COVID-10 vaccines are approved by the CPT Editorial Panel, the AMA will publish updates to their files.
Please note: The 2021 CPT code file released by NextGen Healthcare in December 2020 contains the codes to support the Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca vaccines.
