Urgent TLS 1.0 protocol notice

NextGen Healthcare has been notified by TSYS and InstaMed that their third-party integrations for Payment Card Industry (PCI) transactions will no longer support Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.0 protocol. Upon attempting to process a transaction, some clients might receive an error message similar to the following: “The request was aborted, could not create SSL/TLS Secure Channel.”

TSYS and InstaMed end-of-life dates for TLS 1.0 are currently scheduled for:

  • TSYS: June 6, 2018
  • InstaMed: June 21, 2018

If you are a TSYS or InstaMed client, you may be impacted. Please review the TLS 1.0 Protocol Notice page on the Success Community for current guidance and available resources.

Immediate verification is required to ensure communication protocols provided by TSYS or InstaMed continue to run without disruption in service. In order to process transactions through your NextGen Healthcare products with these vendors, you will need to verify the version of TLS that you are using. Please note: an update might be required.
