Urgent: Renew your ePCS Public Key Certificate before April 4, 2015

The Public Key Certificate that NextGen® Ambulatory EHR (versions 5.7.3.16 HF 28 and higher) uses for e-Prescribing Controlled Substances (ePCS) will expire on April 4, 2015.

A valid certificate is required for all ePCS transactions. It can be downloaded from the NextGen Healthcare Knowledge Exchange (KE).  To install the new certificate into your NextGen Healthcare database, please use the latest eRx Certificate Manager utility.

1)   To download the eRx Certificate Manager, go to https://knowledge.nextgen.com/pe/view.jsp?id=10317384

2)    If you were already logged into the KE, the link above will bring you directly to the utility’s download page.

3)    If you were not already logged into KE, you will be prompted to log in.

4)    Once you are logged in, enter this web address or go to https://knowledge.nextgen.com/pe/view.jsp?id=10317384, which will take you to the download page.

The utility comes packaged with the new certificate that you must use and instructions to guide you through the installation process. The new certificate is valid and expires on November 19, 2016. Please complete the installation as soon as possible to avoid ePCS issues on April 4, 2015.
