At the end of January, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released its Nationwide Interoperability Roadmap and Standards Advisory. These documents were developed over months with input from key health IT industry leaders and lay the foundation to “clearly define standards, motivate their use through clear incentives, and establish trust in the health IT ecosystem through defining the rules of engagement,” according to Dr. Karen DeSalvo, National Coordinator for Health IT.
On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. ET ONC’s Erica Galvez, Interoperability and Exchange Portfolio Manager and Steve Posnack, Director of Standards and Technology will provide an overview of the Nationwide Interoperability Roadmap and 2015 Interoperability Standards Advisory, outlining specific steps identified as necessary in our efforts to move towards an open ecosystem in the next 10 years, including the identification of some of the best available technical standards for core interoperability functions that exist today.
