Preparing for ICD-10 includes review and testing of custom applications and reports

Do you have custom reports, applications, or templates created by NextGen® Technical Consulting Services?  If so, please be sure to thoroughly review and test them for compatibility with the new ICD-10 code format.  The ICD-10 codes are now from three to seven alpha-numeric characters in length with a format that could include up to four characters to the right of the decimal.  This change may require your custom application, report or template to be updated to accommodate this new format.  If you have a custom report (using Excel, SSRS, or Crystal Reports) that was written by Technical Consulting to report on encounters or patients with certain diagnoses, it is likely that these reports will need to be expanded to search for the corresponding ICD-10 codes.  Please review the White Paper available on the Knowledge Exchange for more information.

As you conduct end-to-end ICD-10 testing, if you find you have a custom application, report, or template that requires updating please contact us immediately by opening a Support Ticket in the Client Support Center using the subject Consulting Services Request.  Please note that the services required to update custom applications, reports or templates is billable.
