As we’ve mentioned in the last two editions of What’s Next, the general release of NextGen® Patient Portal v. 2.2 is scheduled for June 28.
You do not have to take any action in order to receive this update. When you log in on June 28, the site will be updated. But we encourage you to review the Day One Impact Documentation, Patient Portal Update Video, and Release Notes available now on Knowledge Exchange to get familiar with what to expect. The video provides an overview of the new features and functions of NextGen Patient Portal v. 2.2.
Highlights of version 2.2 includes:
Login and Enrollment Improvements to improve patient ease of use and reduce calls to the practice.
- Enrollment using the “I am New Here” button
- Support for enrollment token and support for temporary username and password.
- Character limit for Username and Password increased from 20 to 50 characters.
- Username and password recovery enhancements
- “Forgot Your Login Information?” has a new look and feel
- More options for patients to select and recover their account details.
Improvements to Healthwise Education information.
- The “Research” Tab has been renamed to “Patient Education”
- Hovering over the Patient Education tab displays Patient Education, Symptom Checker, Medications, and Health Decision Tools.
- We’ve added a new “Search” field at the top of the homepage for Healthwise information
Improved workflow for Sending PHR to a Provider
- Improvements to Search for a provider or input a provider’s Direct address
- Improved clarification between Direct address and regular email address
