Hot Fix 3 for NextGen® Ambulatory KBM v8.3.10, (NextGen® Knowledge Base Model (NextGen KBM) v8.3.10.) enables Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) Fifth Edition standards – “DSM-5” – documentation functionality for ICD-10 compliance (October 1, 2015 transition) for behavioral health clients using NextGen KBM v8.3.10 in integrated or standalone behavioral health settings. There are two ways to apply this hot fix:
I From the KE home page click on the ICD-10 icon (right side vertical icon menu) and then click “Links & Resources:”
- Under “Hot Fix Resources” blue tab – sub-head “NextGen Ambulatory KBM – click “NextGen KBM 8.3.0 to 8.3.10 Hot Fix Overview (includes all KBM Hotfixes related to the KBM ICD10 release)”
- You’re now at Article ID: 10343015: In the hot fix table, under KBM version 8.3.10, click “KBM 8.3.10 ICD-10 Hotfix 3” which has separate Article ID of 10353940.
NOTE: Supporting documentation for Hot Fix 3 for NextGen KBM 8.3.10 is similarly accessed. From the KE home page click on the ICD-10 icon (right side vertical icon menu) and then click “Links & Resources:”
- Under the “Documentation” blue tab, the second bullet, click on: “NextGen KBM 8.3 UD10 HF3 Behavioral Health User Guide”
- You’re now at Article ID 10353924 – the Behavioral Health User Guide for NextGen KBM, Version 8.3 UD10 Hot Fix 3
II If you prefer, you can engage NextGen Healthcare Client Support at no charge to apply this Hot Fix 3 for NextGen KBM 8.3.10. Open a support incident/request at the top left-hand corner of the Service Desk Express (SDE) home page.
- From the “Select a Subject” menu select “Schedule NextGen Ambulatory KBM Upgrade”
- In the “Incident Description” box below, please enter: “Need KBM 8.3.10 HF3 Installed”
Not yet upgraded to NextGen KBM v8.3.10 but need to document using DSM-5?
If you have not yet upgraded to NextGen KBM 8.3.10, you can’t apply Hot Fix 3.
For clients who cannot get to NextGen KBM 8.3.10 HF3 by October 1, NextGen Healthcare has created an alternative workflow. The alternative workflow enables DSM-5 documentation functionality for ICD-10 reporting compliance. It is described in detail in a new document titled: “DSM-5 Alternative Workflow” and identified with Article ID 10350005.
