Regulatory changes to CQM, PQRS, and other reporting measurements frequently occur between planned user or NextGen KBM upgrade periods. A faster, easier, and more accurate capture of quality reporting data is available using NextGen® Knowledge Base Model (NextGen KBM) Coded Results Mapping Version 2.0. This version, a stand-alone package, enables users to add specific data points for reporting clinical quality measures without requiring a full KBM upgrade.
Upgraded! Coded Results Mapping, Version 2.0
Coded Results Mapping allows you to map specific template field values to specific coded values, a process which:
- Improves the accuracy of quality measure reporting
- Simplifies the maintenance of customized templates with quality measure-related values
- Streamlines the uninterrupted updating of quality measures
Coded Results Mapping, Version 2.0 is enhanced with two new functionalities:
Data Captures for Recurrent NextGen KBM Workflow Non-Supported Measures
Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) measures for the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) use CPTII codes for both registry- and claims-based reporting. Selecting appropriate CPTII codes for procedures is frequently difficult. Coded Results Mapping provides a configurable option to display the codes and descriptions, making it easier to pick the correct code-specific patient encounter.
Custom Data Mapping
Custom Data Mapping enables clients to capture required data for reporting newly introduced measures or for reporting measures where the workflows are not supported in earlier NextGen KBM versions (in the interim between NextGen KBM upgrades). It also allows providers to enter variable data for reporting purposes at run time.
Important Installation Considerations
All clients who participate in Clinical Quality Measures and/or PQRS, and are live on NextGen KBM version 8.3 or higher, should consider installing the Coded Results Mapping solution.
Please consider reviewing these important installation considerations:
- Coded Results Mapping must be reinstalled after a NextGen KBM upgrade, unless a new version of the solution is included as part of the NextGen KBM upgrade.
- During a reinstall, if your system has both the Care Guidelines solution and the Coded Results Mapping Solution, Care Guidelines must be reinstalled prior to reinstalling Coded Results Mapping.
- Depending on the contents of a NextGen KBM hot fix, you may have to reinstall the Coded Results Mapping solution after installing the hot fix. Please refer to your hot fix instructions.
