NextGen Healthcare to Support CPC+

NextGen Healthcare is pleased to announce our support for the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+), a new five-year program introduced by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) and scheduled to begin in January, 2017.

Background

CPC+ is a national advanced primary care medical home model and one of only a handful of current CMMI programs to meet the requirements for an advanced Alternative Payment Model (APM) under the proposed MACRA rule.

In addition to earning program-specific incentives, the proposed MACRA rule offers providers participating in advanced APM the potential to exclude from the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and to earn a 5% bonus payment on Medicare Part B payments. To qualify for these benefits, providers participating in the advanced APM must meet the participation thresholds outlined by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS), though providers who meet the partial threshold would receive credit for the MIPS Clinical Practice Improvement Activities category.

CMMI has released the list of approved regions and payers and opened the application process for practices. To learn more, visit the CPC+ homepage here.
