Generating Certification ID for 2018 MIPS/Medicaid Attestations using 2014 Edition

Based on CMS regulations, NextGen Healthcare in conjunction with our Accredited Certification Body (ACB), Drummond Group, have determined that an extra step is required to generate the CMS Certification ID for clients who used 2014 Edition software during their 2018 MIPS or Medicaid Promoting Interoperability (PI) performance period.

To assist in this process, NextGen Healthcare has created a white paper with step-by-step instructions to generate the correct ID.

Who is impacted?
NextGen Healthcare clients who used 2014 Edition versions of NextGen® Enterprise EHR (formerly NextGen® Ambulatory EHR), Mirth Connect, and NextGen® EDR for their 2018 MIPS or Medicaid PI performance period.  Please reference the white paper for a full list of impacted product versions.

Action Required
When generating their CMS Certification ID from the Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL) website, clients who used the affected 2014 Edition software during their 2018 performance will need to select their product/version from the list of products marked “withdrawn by developer”. If their reporting period end date period was later than November 1, 2018, clients must also select the currently certified product/version with a certification date of November 1, 2018.

Why is this required?
NextGen Healthcare has been notified by our Accredited Certification Body (ACB), Drummond Group, that this additional step is required due to the transfer of our 2014 Edition certifications for the above-named products to Drummond Group from ICSA, our former ACB.  As part of this process, ONC relisted each certified product/version with new a new ID.  Drummond Group has indicated that this extra step is required to generate the correct ID.
