Access to the new NextGen Ambulatory Patient API (NextGen API) Beta Production Release version is now available.
You can comply…with the new API!
In 2018, CMS requires MIPS-eligible clinicians attesting to MIPS ACI (non-transition) and Medicaid Stage 3 MU participants to begin giving patients access to their health information using an application of the patient’s choice configured to meet the API specifications of their certified EHR. This may be an iPhone or Android “app,” or any other technology the patient may wish to use that can be configured to connect to the API.
To meet this requirement, NextGen Healthcare clients must deploy NextGen Ambulatory Patient API and direct patients requesting access using an app to the API information page.

When do I get started?
If you plan to report MIPS ACI (non-transition) or MU Stage 3 in 2018, you need to implement the NextGen API prior to the start of your 2018 ACI or MU Stage 3 reporting period.
