The 2019 CPT® Codes are now available for download. The American Medical Association (AMA) requires purchase of the 2019 code set version, regardless of whether you secure them in an electronic format or if you choose to manually enter the codes into your NextGen Healthcare Enterprise database.
NextGen Healthcare will continue to offer CPT and HCPCS codes, as well as RVU mapping, as part of the NextGen® Coding Update File. This value-add service enables seamless importing of pre-formatted codes directly into your EHR/PM system.
All NextGen Healthcare clients have access to the 2019 Import Utility to streamline the code update process. Please refer to 2019 CPT and HCPCS Codes Now Available article in the NextGen Healthcare Success Community to find the 2019 NextGen® Enterprise CPT4 Utility Guide attachment.
Once the 2019 CPT codes are purchased, you may use the following to update your codes: NextGen Shared CPT4 Update Utility* and 2019 CPT4 Codes.

Code Update Process
Clients who’ve purchased their 2019 CPT codes from an outside source (i.e. not from NextGen Healthcare) must follow the directions in the 2019 NextGen® Enterprise CPT4 Utility Guide* to format their new, 2019 CPT file for compatibly with the NextGen CPT Import Utility.

Clients who purchase 2019 CPT codes from NextGen Healthcare may use the NextGen Shared CPT4 Update Utility and 2019 CPT4 Codes** linked above.
** You must first purchase the 2019 CPT file code set before attempting to use this file. Clients who have not yet purchased their 2019 CPT codes from NextGen Healthcare, who try to open the 2019 CPT4 Codes file will receive an error message.

If you are a NextGen Healthcare Hosted client and have purchased your 2019 CPT Codes through NextGen Healthcare, a Support case will be opened on your behalf to have your 2019 CPT Codes installed.
If you are a NextGen Hosted client and did NOT purchase your codes through NextGen Healthcare (you purchased them elsewhere), please open a Support case for our Hosting Support team to load your CPT codes with the following parameters. Clients also must provide their outside CPT Code file formatted according to the guidelines in the CPT4 Utility Guide for NextGen® Enterprise 2019:
