The American Medical Association (AMA) 2022 CPT® codes will be available soon. Now is the perfect time to ensure your practice is covered.
Need 2022 CPT and HCPCS codes?
For those clients who do not have SaaS Subscriptions to use NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise Practice Management, we can help! Contact your Account Representative to purchase 2022 CPT codes that will take effect January 1, 2022.
We make it easy!
2022 CPT code licenses purchased through NextGen Healthcare will also include the latest HCPCS codes when they become available.
Here are three more ways we can help:
1. Easy to import—We bundle both code sets (including RVU mappings) into one file for you to easily import into NextGen Enterprise, providing you with a license to use the Import Utility and associated scripts to identify deactivated codes that may be embedded in templates
2. Less expensive—Purchasing CPT and HCPCS codes from NextGen Healthcare is less expensive than from the American Medical Association (AMA) directly because the AMA charges for both code sets
3. Auto-renew—Purchase this year and you’ll auto-renew for next year
Important to note
If you have purchased or are renewing any of the solutions listed below, you will also need to have purchased the most current CPT code set released by the AMA to be compliant with AMA rules:
- NextGen® Medical Necessity Check
- NextGen® In-Line Edits (formerly known as NextGen® Real-Time Edits / NextGen RTE)
- NextGen® Charge Review Rules Engine (formerly known as NextGen® Rules Engine (RCx Rules)
These other NextGen Healthcare solutions rely on mappings of the most current CPT codes. Therefore, the use of these solutions is predicated on the most current CPT codes being purchased and loaded in your system.
The Import Utility is made available exclusively to clients who purchase 2022 CPT codes directly from NextGen Healthcare, per our obligations to the AMA. Clients that do not purchase 2022 CPT codes from NextGen Healthcare will not be provided access to the Import Utility and associated instructions.
Stay in AMA compliance
Our goal is to ensure you purchase and use the correct number of licenses to lessen the chance of a future AMA audit.
Review the AMA License Terms definition of a “Provider”. Purchases through NextGen Healthcare must adhere to AMA requirements. The AMA has been auditing the use of CPT codes more frequently and they are reaching out directly to clients as well as NextGen Healthcare to inquire. To protect your practice, it is essential to comply with all AMA rules.
