CMS Extends Deadline for MU Reporting…Slightly

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has extended the attestation deadline for providers participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program (aka, meaningful use) to Monday, March 13, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. PST. (The deadline was previously February 28, 2017.)

Providers participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program must attest to the 2016 program requirements by March 13, 2017, to avoid a 2018 payment adjustment.

If you are participating in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, please refer to your state’s deadlines for attestation information.

As a reminder, the deadline for PQRS reporting remains March 31, 2017. However, if you are submitting meaningful use clinical quality measures (CQMs) in alignment with PQRS, your deadline for submission is March 13. (To ensure successful submission the HQM implementation team requires all file to be generated and approved by February 24 for EHR reporting and March 17 for PQRS reporting. This applies only to aligned PQRS/CQM reporting.)
